GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY
The gift of home ownership
Intex Custom Homes is participating in the 2008 Home Builders Blitz for Habitat for Humanity. From Saturday, May 31 to Friday, June 6, Intex and our subcontractors will complete a home for a deserving family, along with five other Oregon builders. All materials and labor will be donated.
How can we build a home in just one week? We're inspired by the story of the family for whom we're building it. Dzifa Toku and and her husband Kodzo struggled to bring themselves and their three young children to Portland from Togo, West Africa. Dzifa works at a local non-profit organization and Kodzu works as a zoom assembly/machine operator. They believe in hard work and responsible management of their finances. They were homeowners in their former country. Becoming future Habitat homeowners in Portland has brought them hope.

The gift of independence
Our founder, Joe Bauschelt, is on the Board of Directors for Community Vision. Community Vision is a local non-profit agency that provides training and support to developmentally disabled adults so they may learn to live more independently, which includes taking steps toward home ownership. Intex Custom Homes and TC Cairns of RE/MAX are presenting sponsors for the organization's annual fundraising event, Cycle for the Vision.
