DESIGNED FOR REFLECTION

Horizontal Line

As an infill project, the overall style and look of this home was intended to be an Old Portland Craftsman Bungalow. From the overall design to the many details, much of the classic detailing that people have come to cherish in Portland's historic neighborhood homes have been used in this home.

Beginning with the exterior, the traditional dormers and large beam posts provide a complete visual package that extends to the spacious porch that encourages front-porch living and a connection to one's neighbors. Once inside, the home takes people back to a simpler time and helps relieve the stress and strain of a busy day with its gracious and welcoming design. Specifically, the design keeps with the Bungalow tradition as a space saver; no hallways are used in the home and the first-floor plan has traditional living spaces and dining connected to the kitchen.

Additional features include built-in bookcases next to the Craftsman fireplace and an easy and restful breakfast nook in of the kitchen area. The design combined with carefully selected features, successfully creates a warm and charming "heart and soul" of this home.

MAXIMIZING VALUE FOR THE HOMEOWNER

Additional value was designed into this (29th Street) project by the addition of a bonus space on the second floor of the garage. Without additional disturbance to the home site, this became a cost efficient, flexible use space. As a hallmark of the Old Craftsman Bungalow, style and function are paired to create the maximum use of space within a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere.

NEW CONSTRUCTION, OLD WORLD CHARM

Horizontal Line

Many people who come to us want a home with all of the traditional character, charm and history found in older homes. They have weighed the options of fixing up and older home or buying a restoration. Both options generally lead to more expense than initially planned and have results that fall short of expectations. In addition to the initial cost, the homeowners would have to deal with the obsolete designs and financial burden inherent in a building that is usually nearly 100 years old.

As we have seen time and again, people are amazed when they find our homes in existing neighborhoods with all of the amenities and superior quality of new construction while providing the Old Bungalow feel and charm they are looking for. They know in an instant that they are home.
