(Portland, OR) - Intex Custom Homes received a Guildmaster Award on April 9 by GuildQuality, the nation's premier organization promoting excellence in home building industry.

Out of some 600 GuildQuality members, 102 received the prestigious award - the biggest number to date. The awards are based on high customer service ratings reported by each builder's clients. Award winners differ in their types of work and their price ranges, but all have lengthy track records of exceptional customer feedback.

This is the first Guildmaster Award for Intex, which over the last two years has won numerous Building Excellence Awards from the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland, including several for green building.

Intex won the Guildmaster award, in part, because of a 97 percent recommendation rate by its customers. Award recipients must have both a high recommendation rate and a high customer response rate to the GuildQuality survey. Intex received perfect scores in categories such as expertise, professionalism and organization, staying on schedule, budgeting, problem resolution, cleanliness and safety, trust, and value.

"Getting this award is a heck of an accomplishment, considering we're already working with the best in the business," said GuildQuality representative Jon Atteberry.

In addition to home builders, GuildQuality conducts surveys for associations, developers and real estate professionals, with typical response and completion rates of 72 percent, according to Geoff Hartnett, GuildQuality's director of web marketing. The response rate for Intex was higher than average: 77.8 percent.

A typical customer response on the survey was "This was the first time we purchased a brand new home, so there was a lot to learn and we wouldn't have wanted to do it with any other builder. We are completely satisfied and impressed with the quality of construction and design, and are very happy."

Intex is one of the fastest growing home building companies in the Portland area. It specializes in environmentally sensitive, energy efficient Arts & Crafts-style homes. It's newest neighborhood, Indigo Ridge, opened this spring in the Cooper Mountain area of Washington County.
