"I'd really describe Intex as the 'poster company' for green building," said Duane Woik, a green building consultant with Earth Advantage. He called Intex one of the most diligent and conscientious green builders he works with throughout the Pacific Northwest.

"Intex has taken green building and really implemented it into every aspect of home construction," Woik said.

Earth Advantage is the Northwest's premier green building program. It works with builders and developers to bring the most energy efficient, sustainable and healthy homes to the market.

Intex goes through a detailed process with all of its homes in order to gain Earth Advantage certifications. The process starts with a plan review, and continues with consultations, inspections and performance testing. The resulting Earth Advantage certification identifies each home as being among the most energy efficient and earth-friendly on the market.

"From the point that the Intex team learned about Earth Advantage, they were hooked. They just wanted to learn more," said Woik, who frequently encounters members of the Intex team at green building classes.
