One of the defining characteristics of Intex Custom Homes is its dedication to sustainable building practices, including building the most energy efficient homes on the market. With Indigo Ridge, we've taken that concept to a new level, with new features that will be standard in all homes in the neighborhood. They include a 95 percent Lennox efficient variable speed furnace, MyTemp™ comfort control system by Home Comfort Zones, and a high performance Lennox (16 SEER) air conditioning unit.

"This is really the ultimate heating, ventilation and air conditioning system," said Intex Vice President Roy Miller.

A heat recovery ventilator (HRV) will be another standard feature of this system. An HRV is a heat exchanger that captures heat or cooling energy from indoor air before it is exhausted from the home, then transfers that energy to fresh air coming into the home. It is an energy-saving device that exceeds Earth Advantage green building certification requirements.

"This is a cutting edge system that no other builder is offering as a standard feature. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone offering it as an option," said Intex president Joe Bauschelt, adding that the energy efficiencies Intex built into all Indigo Ridge homes exceed Earth Advantage / Energy Star standards by more than 100 percent.

These measures also provide a healthier indoor environment. The EPA estimates that indoor air can be five to ten times more polluted than the outdoor air.

Using the latest building science technologies, we're able to provide the finest, most efficient and highest performing homes for our customers.

In addition, all Indigo Ridge homes will have roughed-in areas for passive solar water heating panels. The solar heating systems are optional for the customers who choose them. A solar system will be part of the model home.

Other new features at Indigo Ridge include a new type of blown-in fiberglass insulation in all the exterior walls, and windows that are 25 percent more energy efficient than current building codes require. Each will be standard in all Indigo Ridge Homes.
